"Dr Danielle Farrell at Y.O.U helped me with our difficult situation with the local authority.

If it were not for her we would not have secured legal contact in relation to SDS and I cannot thank her enough for her help and intervention at a very difficult and stressful time in my life caused by the local authority and would highly recommend her "

J Stewart - Renfrew, individual with Motor Neurons Disease (Advocacy)

"I invited Dr Danielle Farrel to attend the final Conference of the two year Erasmus+ Skills project in Brussels in September 2019. The Skills project is a transnational project with partners in 5 European countries that aims to share practice and develop resources about self-directed support.  I asked Danielle to attend and present at the final Conference as I knew that she would have something that would be interesting to share with partners and other delegates, both describing her own experience of self -directed support and reflecting on the implementation of this policy in Scotland.

After the event I received unsolicited feedback from a third party who had spoken to one of the delegates, who had described the input from Danielle as ‘the best part of the Conference’ as it gave a much more grounded and real picture of self-directed support in practice."

Keith Etherington, National Co-ordinator - In Control Scotland

"Dr Danielle Farrel delivered a high quality in-service training session at Greenwood Academy. The training incorporated Equalities and Staff Attitudes to supporting people with disabilities.

Danielle’s training was very well received as she used multi-media, role play/games and presented information relating to her own life experiences as an individual with a disability.

Staff that attended the training commented that it was an excellent session and were particularly impressed with Danielle’s passion and commitment to Advocacy and support for people with disabilities and their families. The training was described as extremely useful and relevant particularly since Danielle is able to speak from personal experience. We would highly recommend Danielle’s services through Y.O.U. and are keen to engage her again to offer more training within Greenwood Academy."
