Y.O.U's Policy Reviews

What is a Policy Review?

A policy review is a systematic examination of the policies governing the operations of an organisation. The goal is to ensure that all policies are current, relevant, effective, and aligned with legal requirements and organizational goals.

What are the objectives of a policy review?

  1. Compliance: Ensure all policies comply with current laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  2. Relevance: Confirm that policies are relevant to the current organizational structure and operations.

  3. Clarity: Ensure policies are clear, concise, and easily understood by all employees.

  4. Effectiveness: Assess the effectiveness of policies in achieving their intended outcomes.

  5. Consistency: Ensure consistency across all policies to avoid conflicts and overlaps.

Why choose Y.O.U to conduct your policy review?

Y.O.U have first hand experience of both being a disabled person in employment and of being self-employed.

The different access needs of Dr Danielle Farrel, Managing Director of Y.O.U and of Y.O.U's Associate Alyson Woodhouse means that we bring a wide range of knowledge and experiences of being in the workplace to our policy reviews. This enables Y.O.U to assist employers in ensuring that their policies are fully inclusive and cover best practices for all in the workplace.

What does Y.O.U's policy review offer employers and organisations?

Y.O.U's policy review offers initial support in scoping out the review in terms of how many and what policies they feel need to be reviewed. In the initial stages Y.O.U will also be able to establish a time line for this review and identify resources that might be helpful with this process.

Y.O.U will conduct a comprehensive detailed review and analysis of each policy being reviewed in each organisation we work with and provide details in relation to how compliant and relevant it is whilst also seeking clarity and examining how effective it is. We will also provide feedback on any improvements needed for each policy we examine.

Based on the analysis Y.O.U will provide each employer and organisations draft revisions required for each policy as well as identifying gaps where creating new policies might be required.

Through the policy review Y.O.U will also provide a rationale behind the recommendations made and assist employers and organisations in thinking about how best to implement a schedule to regularly review the policies.

The above gives a general overview of Y.O.U's policy review process and the support we can provide.

However, it is key for us that a bespoke approach is delivered throughout our services and therefore each policy review will be tailored and conducted to meet the needs of all employers and organisations so that they can ensure that their policies work for them as an organisation and help them ensure that they support all of their employees and customers to the same high standard.
